Spanish Latte

Spanish lattes are like a twist on your classic iced latte. A delicious Spanish latte isn’t a drink you usually see on the menu of your average coffee shop. But if you’ve never tried it, you’re missing out on something amazing. This drink is the perfect complement to any afternoon pick-me-up or morning breakfast.

Pouring Milk in Spanish Latte

A Spanish latte, or cafe con leche, is a subtly sweet espresso drink made with condensed milk, espresso, and frothy milk. Of course, there’s more that goes into them than just that.

So, let’s make it.☕

Spanish Latte

INGREDIENTS

1 shot of espresso or 1 cup of strong coffee

100 ml of milk

½ cup sweet condensed milk

Ground cinnamon and cocoa powder

Condensed Milk in Spanish Latte

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Pull one shot of espresso using your espresso machine or stovetop Moka pot. You can also make ½ cup of extra strong coffee.
  2. Heat the milk over medium heat. You want the milk scalded, not boiling, so don't bring a boil to it. Stir regularly to keep the milk from burning.
  3. Once the milk is hot, froth it using your milk frother or a whisk.
  4. Add sweetened condensed milk to your mug. Add the espresso or coffee to your mug. Mix it up really well with a frother. Then pour the frothy milk on top. Top the drink off with the rest of the foam.
  5. Now garnish your coffee with a mixture of ground cinnamon and cocoa powder. Then enjoy your tasty Spanish latte!

    Garnishing Spanish Latte

Nestip: Make sure that you stir the drink to combine all the ingredients. Otherwise, the condensed milk may separate and settle to the bottom of the cup.
