Frequently Asked Questions
What does BPA-free mean?
BPA-free means that a product does not contain Bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical used in the production of certain plastics and resins. BPA can leach into food or beverages from containers made with it, potentially causing health concerns. Products labeled as BPA-free are designed to ensure that they do not release this chemical, making them a safer choice for consumers, especially for items that come into contact with food and drinks, like bottles, containers, and kitchenware.
What makes the ceramic lead-free?
Our ceramic is lead-free because we use high-quality, non-toxic materials and advanced manufacturing processes to ensure the safety and purity of our products. This is achieved by a combination of different factors, from firing our ceramics at extremely high temperatures to strengthen the material and eliminate impurities, to applying non-toxic, food-safe glazes that create a smooth, non-porous surface.
Will the fondue set break easily?
No, the fondue set won't break easily as it's made from high-quality ceramic, a material known for its durability. Furthermore, all our ceramics are fired at extremely high temperatures that strengthen the material, making it resistant to chips and cracks.
However, it's important to note that like all ceramic and stoneware products, if mishandled or dropped it will crack or break. Therefore, it's important to handle the fondue set with care.
How should I clean the wooden tray?
Since the tray is made from wood, specifically bamboo, it requires a different cleaning process. Here are a few simple and easy steps to follow to maintain the condition of the tray:
1. Use a damp wet cloth and wipe the tray clean.
2. For deeper cleaning, handwash using a non-abrasive scrub and mild detergent. Dry immediately using a soft, dry cloth.
3. Avoid soaking the tray in water as this can cause the tray to warp.
4. Avoid harsh chemicals such as bleach and vinegar as this can affect the wood.
Are the skewers dishwasher safe?
Unfortunately, the skewers are not dishwasher safe and need to be hand-washed as the handles are made from PVC.
PVC is generally not considered dishwasher-safe because the high temperatures and harsh detergents used in dishwashers can cause the material to warp, degrade, or release harmful chemicals.
